Watch for identity and deed scams

The bot sets up checks for common scams aimed at you, such as accounts opened in your name or changes to your property deed.

Starting prompt (adapted)

Set up a weekly check for signs of identity theft and property scams aimed at me: new accounts or credit inquiries in my name, changes to the deed or title on my property in the public records, and scam messages in my email. Tell me what each check looks at and which ones you can't run without my login. Report anything new with its source, and don't contact anyone or share my details without asking me.

Written for this site from what the cases below did. It is a starting point, not a prompt anyone posted. Fill in the parts in brackets.

What you still do

  • Sign in to the credit bureau sites yourself
  • Act on any alert, such as freezing your credit

Where it tends to fail

  • Setup only, nothing caught yet
  • Public deed records and credit tools differ by country and county
  • The same person reported the bot refusing a related removal task

How well it's backed up

So far this is a single text-only post about the setup, and nothing has been caught yet.
