Dispute a medical bill with records

The bot checks a medical bill against your insurer's explanation of benefits and the hospital's billing rules, then drafts a dispute.

Starting prompt (adapted)

Review this medical bill or collections notice against my health insurer's explanation of benefits and the provider's itemized bill. Log into my insurer's portal to pull the matching EOB, check whether the charge was already paid or billed in error, and look up the hospital's charity care and billing rules. Draft a dispute letter with the supporting documents attached and explain in plain language why each item is wrong, but do not send, fax, or submit anything until I have reviewed and approved it. Ask me before including my SSN, member ID, or account numbers in anything, and stop and hand back for any identity check. Keep copies of everything sent and tell me what the provider or collector confirmed in writing versus what you expect.

Written for this site from what the cases below did. It is a starting point, not a prompt anyone posted. Fill in the parts in brackets.

What you still do

  • Review the dispute letter before it is sent
  • Request the itemized bill if the provider has not sent it
  • Track the dispute until a written answer arrives

Where it tends to fail

  • No post reports a resolved dispute yet
  • Large amounts are text-only claims
  • Template posts show the method, not a result
  • Relies on US insurance EOBs and billing rules

How well it's backed up

The evidence is thin and text only: a large dispute filed with no outcome reported, and a template with no personal result. The cases rely on US health billing.

Text only: 2.
