Search for unclaimed property

The bot searches state unclaimed property databases for money held in your name, such as old deposits, refunds, or uncashed checks.

Starting prompt (adapted)

Search missingmoney.com and the unclaimed property site for each US state I've lived in, using my current and past names and addresses. List each match with the holder, amount if shown, and how to claim it. Don't start a claim or enter my SSN without asking me, and if a site asks for ID verification, stop and hand it back. Skip any service that charges a fee to find or claim the money.

Written for this site from what the cases below did. It is a starting point, not a prompt anyone posted. Fill in the parts in brackets.

What you still do

  • File the claim and verify your identity
  • Wait for the state to pay out

Where it tends to fail

  • Single text-only claim; money found, not confirmed paid
  • Covers US state systems only
  • Paid finder services can look like official sites

How well it's backed up

So far this is a single text-only claim, and the money was found, not paid out.

Text only: 1.
