Review bank statements for waste

You give the bot months of bank statements and it lists recurring charges you could cut, mostly subscriptions.

Up to $315 a month as reported, with no screenshot · 2 cases, 2 report a saving

Starting prompt (adapted)

Read the last 12 months of my bank and card statements from the folder I share and list every recurring charge, grouped by merchant, with how often it bills and the yearly total. Flag the ones I may not need, such as duplicates, unused subscriptions, and price increases, and explain why for each. Do not cancel or change anything until I approve each item. Do not copy full account or card numbers into anything you send. When I approve a cancellation, save the merchant's confirmation and tell me what it confirmed versus what you expect to save.

Written for this site from what the cases below did. It is a starting point, not a prompt anyone posted. Fill in the parts in brackets.

What you still do

  • Export and share the statements
  • Decide which charges to cut
  • Rearrange accounts and cancel subscriptions

Where it tends to fail

  • All posts are text only, with no statements shown
  • The bot's own plan cost reduces the net saving
  • Finding a charge is not the same as canceling it

Reported savings

$6,300in the first year, across 2 cases

As people report it, converted to USD. Only cases where the provider agreed or the change is reported done.
