File a warranty claim

The bot finds the receipt and warranty terms in your email, fills in the maker's claim form, and tracks the replacement.

Starting prompt (adapted)

My [product] stopped working. Search my email and accounts for the order receipt and the warranty terms, and tell me whether it is still covered. If it is, prepare the claim on the maker's website, show it to me before you submit, and create any return shipping label. Do not pay for shipping, repairs, or upgrades without asking me. Track the claim until a replacement ships and save the maker's confirmation emails.

Written for this site from what the cases below did. It is a starting point, not a prompt anyone posted. Fill in the parts in brackets.

What you still do

  • Describe or photograph the fault
  • Approve the claim before it is submitted
  • Pack the item and send it with the shipping label

Where it tends to fail

  • Most posts stop at a filed claim, with no reply yet
  • No post shows the maker's confirmation
  • A replacement saves the cost of a new item, not cash back

How well it's backed up

All posts are text-only. Most end at a filed claim; a couple report a replacement promised or delivered.

Text only: 5.
